How to Build a Time Machine

The amazing account of John J. Clifton,
a time traveller from the year 2515

How to Build a Time Machine is the amazing account of John J. Clifton, a time traveller from the year 2151. Stranded in the present for 4 years, Clifton decides to contact a New York news office to share what he knows about the future.

Skeptical at first, the two producers who meet with Clifton are shocked to discover he is what he claims to be. Clifton shows the men his “MTY device”, a machine capable of capturing and maintaining a stable wormhole, through which “temporal specialists” from the future travel through time. He methodically explains the device’s components, as well as the accident that stranded him in the present.

During their interview with this mysterious traveller from the future, the producers learn about a civil war that will shortly engulf the United States. According to historical data files provided by Clifton, civil discord will soon fracture the country along social-economic ideologies; Democrats to socialism and Republicans to capitalism. Following several years of escalating violence, political assassinations, and terrorism, the discord will finally erupt into actual warfare.

The historical files Clifton provides describe a vicious conflict engulfing a deeply-divided nation. From the siege and destruction of Boise, Idaho, to the naval battle in the waters off of Norfolk, Virginia, the scale of the conflict is unprecedented as massive armies roam the American heartland. Phoenix, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Ogden, and San Francisco are devastated by nuclear detonations, the Capitol Building is burned, and Mexico joins the conflict in support of the socialist states.

When capitalist forces begin to gain the upper hand with the aid of unexpected Chinese allies, the socialist leaders play their last hand. In what future historians described as “an act of incomprehensible hatred and spite”, they order the detonation of hundreds of nuclear warheads strategically concealed throughout the American southwest. The warheads, hidden within industrial metal containers packed with cesium-137, kill more than 67 million people and render the western United States uninhabitable for more than 30 years.

The historical files provided by Clifton also document man’s first contact with an alien civilization, the Luyteni. Although too far distant to visit, the Luyteni share their advanced technology with man through light frequency communications transmitted from their home-world orbiting Luyten’s star, a red dwarf system located 12.36 light years from the earth.

The technical information provided by the Luyteni allows mankind to begin constructing quantum-stabilized singularities. These singularities facilitate instantaneous transition between the earth’s cities, its moon, and even distant orbital stations. Within 50 years, a network of singularities permits man to establish the first colony on Mars.

This book is unlike any book you have read before. From Clifton’s first interview with the skeptical media producers, to his final technical revelations to a shocked physicist and mathematician, you will be fascinated by what lies ahead for mankind.
